Dutch Bicycling Lesson (Amsterdam)
Learn cycling the Dutch way
Service Description
Feel at ease cycling in the Netherlands after taking this 3-hour Dutch bicycling lesson. We will be teaching: -Bike handling (brake, balance, shifting, slow movement) -Steering (corners, getting around things) -Traffic skills (getting around people, traffic light tricks, “hekjes”) -Traffic rules (the law, Dutch traffic behaviour, right-of-way, habits) -Group riding (small groups, when you go with friends) -Dealing with other road-participants (elderly cyclists, electric bikes, fat bikes, cars, cargo bikes, trucks (dead-spot!), busses, trams etc) As a participant you need: -A bike. -Working brakes. -Tires at a decent pressure (we will bring a pump and talk about this) -Although not mandatory, a helmet is not a bad idea for inexperienced cyclist. Many head injuries happen in slow falls and the incidents have risen with bikes last year. -A snack and water is usually comfortable 😊
